North Melbourne coach, David Noble, apologised, sorry for spray, large loss to Brisbane, On the Couch, Melbourne Demons rebuild

North Melbourne coach David Noble selected to apologise to his gamers after he successfully “tore strips off” them again in Round 3, with a twig that left some gamers a “bit emotional”.

The Kangaroos have been belted by the Lions in a 108-point defeat, with Noble stating the membership must be “embarrassed” in his post-match press convention.

But Fox Footy’s Jon Ralph stated Noble was “so concerned” by the character of his deal with to the gamers that he “reflected on it” and apologised days later for his conduct.

“The Roos had lost to Hawthorn, they had just fallen over the line against West Coast – their only win of the season. He had his father in the stands (in Round 3 against Brisbane), thought ‘We’re a chance here’ and they got absolutely blown off the park,” Ralph informed On the Couch.

“It’s not the first time players have told him his feedback has not been as constructive as it might have been.

“It was personal enough in nature that some of the players were shell shocked about, some of them even a bit emotional about it.

“The players were telling him, (the game plan is) too complicated.

“Noble reflected for a couple of days afterwards and said to the players he’d gone too hard.”

North Melbourne now are sitting at a “critical time”, in keeping with On The Couch host Garry Lyon – precisely the place reigning premiers Melbourne have been again in 2013.

“You identify the fact you may have gone too hard and you try and rebuild some trust in amongst the group,” Lyon praised.

“You’ve got to be able to stand for something and as far as I’m concerned, that group doesn’t seem stand for anything in terms of the way they play.

“Spray or no spray, something needs to start to hit with that playing group.”

Brown stated it was clear the membership had used the draft to construct a midfield, however Lyon stated it was now as much as membership CEO Ben Amarfio and membership president Sonja Hood – who was solely appointed to the position in March – to “drive” the membership’s rebuilt.

“The pressure on Ben Amarfio, Sonja Hood and the footy manager is enormous,” Lyon stated.

“They are at the critical time.”

North Melbourne have received simply eight in 47 video games since Rhyce Shaw was formally appointed head coach on the again of Brad Scott’s departure from the position again in 2019.

Noble took over from Shaw as head coach on the finish of 2020 and now has a profitable share of simply 16.7%.
