National booster program to begin

Australia has now entered a critical new phase as those who have been been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for six months or more are eligible for a booster shot.

The program has been running for about a week in nursing homes since the government announced it, but today is when they’ll officially be rolling the vaccines into arms to those who critically need their third shot for boosted protection.

Health Minister Greg Hunt said whether Australians will need to take the booster shot annually is “still to be determined worldwide”.
