Labor’s ‘deficiency’ in its deputy


Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says the Liberal government will want to focus on the “deficiency” in Labor’s Deputy Leader Richard Marles.

Mr Clennell said the Liberal campaign will want to focus on how Labor’s frontbench is being used in the election campaign. 

“The Liberal campaign is keen to push the line that the reason that the fact several Labor frontbenchers are being pushed out there, instead of Deputy Labor Leader Richard Marles, means Labor has a deficiency in its deputy,” he said. 

“It is fortuitous for Albanese that he got the virus in week two and not week five or six when it would have sucked all the momentum out of his campaign on the way to election day.”
