Joburg businessman reunited with household after kidnapping ordeal – The Citizen

A Johannesburg businessman who was hijacked and kidnapped on Friday has been reunited along with his household.  

Solly Gani, believed to be in his 60’s, left his store on Market Street on Friday when he was accosted by three armed suspects in a C-Class Mercedes Benz earlier than he may be a part of the freeway.

According to a member of the family, the suspects approached Gani’s automotive and compelled him into their car earlier than fleeing the scene.

Gani’s automotive was pushed away by one of many suspects.

According to the relative, the suspects drove round with Gani earlier than taking him to a casual settlement.

“He was taken to various ATMs from which cash was withdrawn. A ransom demand of R50 000 was requested, which was then reduced to R20 000. Finally, following the work of the hostage negotiation team at SAPS and the assistance of Vision Tactical and community security forums, a nominal amount was sent by e-wallet.”

“They drove him to Baragwanath Hospital and released him at the guard house at the entrance to the clinic,” the member of the family stated.

The household has thanked everybody who supported them, urging these whose relations have been kidnapped, to name police and permit authorities to do their work.

Kidnappings have come below the highlight in South Africa with authorities clamping on syndicates concerned in kidnapping for ransom.

Most of the kidnapped victims have been enterprise homeowners, seemingly seen by criminals as a way to creating a fast buck.

Earlier this week, police made a breakthrough within the case surrounding the spate of kidnappings in Lenasia, south of Johannesburg.

Officers on Tuesday recognized a home in Ennerdale, linked to the now arrested kidnapping suspects from Lenasia.

A supply near the investigation advised The Citizen that authorities imagine kidnapped victims have been held captive at that home.
