Harris County Precinct 5 looking for ‘Midnight Mailbox Bandit’ caught on digicam in Memorial-area neighborhood


HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The Harris County Precinct 5 Constable’s Office says they’re in search of a suspect dubbed the “Midnight Mailbox Bandit” in west Houston.

A doorbell digicam caught the suspect sifting by a house mailbox through the nighttime. At one level, the suspect appears straight into the digicam lens, however retains pulling out letters.

“This is really disturbing to me to think that someone’s just going door-to-door looking through your mail. What else are they looking for?” stated neighbor Kathryn Donelson. “What else is he interested in? It’s very disturbing.”

Investigators say it occurred within the 13100 block of Kimberley Lane close to Wilcrest and I-10.

It’s a neighborhood described by neighbors as very secure and quiet, however the latest video has them apprehensive.

“We feel pretty safe here, so I am kind of disappointed that it happened,” stated Joni Holder.

In the video, you see the suspect holding some mail, after which he seems to cover it out of digicam’s view.

As he turns he adjusts his hoodie, as if he’s hiding mail underneath the sweatshirt.

And as he walks away, he’s seen carrying an open backpack stuffed with letters and packages that investigators say are doubtless from a path of different victims.

“It’s extremely unnerving to see that video. We need to find him,” stated Donelson.

Investigators want the general public’s assist to establish the person, seen in a really recognizable sweatshirt.
