Emergency Services on Scene of Reported Gas Explosion in Abu Dhabi


An explosion in downtown Abu Dhabi prompted a large emergency response early Wednesday, February 9, which local authorities said was caused by a gas cylinder. Emirates News Agency said the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority received a report of a fire in a building on Hamdan Street at 12:09 am. They said authorities controlled the fire and that there were no injuries. Other video circulating on social media shows a fireball near the roof of a building.
