Greek composer and digital music pioneer Vangelis has died. This is reported by the newspaper Ta Nea.
Previously, the writer of the soundtrack to “Blade Runner” was hospitalized in France after contracting the coronavirus. The regulation agency representing him confirmed the loss of life of the composer and famous that he died late at night time on Tuesday, May 17. He was 79 years outdated.
Evángelos Odysséas Papathanassíou (actual identify Vangelis) was born on March 29, 1943, within the Greek metropolis of Volos. He started writing music on the age of 4 and gave his first public efficiency on the age of six, with none schooling. His mother and father insisted that he take music classes, however Vangelis remained self-taught.
He was one of many founders of the well-known band The Forminx, which appeared in Greece within the Nineteen Sixties, and later shaped the rock band Aphrodite’s Child with Demis Roussos. In 1973, after transferring to London, Vangelis started his solo profession and based his personal studio, Nemo Studios.
In addition to Blade Runner, the composer wrote music for the movies Chariots of Fire, Missing in Action, Character, Francis, Alexander, 1492: The Conquest of Paradise. In 2002, Vangelis turned the author of the anthem of the World Cup in Japan and Korea. He was thought of one of many first authors and performers of digital music.
