Ground has been damaged on the Elko Nevada Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
“This temple will be God’s House … a bounteous mine of spiritual ‘gold’ that will truly enrich us, and we need not look anywhere else to find true and lasting peace, happiness, and fulfillment in our lives, our families, and our homes,” mentioned Elder Paul B. Pieper of the Quorum of the Seventy, who presided on the groundbreaking occasion.
“We are thankful for the blessing of a temple in Elko, and for the many faithful souls, past and present, who for many years have traveled great distances to other temples to receive sacred ordinances … and who have prayed for the day when a temple would be built in Elko,” mentioned Elder Pieper within the dedicatory prayer.
Many Church leaders and invited company gathered for the groundbreaking ceremonies in Elko on Saturday, May 7, 2022.
Elder Pieper was joined by his spouse, Melissa, together with regional and native leaders and invited company.
The groundbreaking alerts the start of building for the Elko Nevada Temple, which might be constructed on a 5.2-acre website adjoining to the southeast nook of Ruby View Golf Course. The single-story construction might be about 10,000 sq. ft in dimension.
