10 Most Awaited Netflix, Disney +, Amazon Prime and HBO Max Movies And Shows In December


With the year coming to an end, streaming platforms are soon to release shows and movies that views have been anticipating all year. Spanning over the month of December there is a long list of interesting content to stream on various platforms. Targeted at keeping the holiday season entertaining these platforms have some fan-favorite shows and captivating movies lined up.

Taking a look at the content scheduled to stream on Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime and HBO Max here is a list to keep an eye on.

Money Heist: Season 5, Part 2 (Netflix)

The fan-favorite Spanish show La casa de papel, which became a global sensation as Money Heist, is about to come to an end. On Dec. 3, Netflix will stream the second part or second volume of season five. The second part is expected to have five episodes just like the first part of the season. This will make the season as long as the show’s first season since seasons two had nine episodes while three and four had eight episodes. Fans can expect a final rendezvous with favorite characters including Tokyo (Ursula Corbero) and The Professor (Alvaro Morte).

The Witcher: Season 2 (Netflix)

Following the success of the first season of the fantasy adventure, it is set to return for the second season on Netflix. Featuring Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia the show will return to the streaming platform on Dec. 17. The show has been adapted from the polish novel series Wiedźmin, which was later translated into English. Fans of the books, show and games will have eight episodes of the second season to binge this winter.

Cobra Kai: Season 4 (Netflix)

Netflix promises to end the year with a bang. On Dec. 31 fans of the Karate Kid will once again be taken back to the Miyagi-verse. Jan. 1, 2021, saw the third season of the show streaming on the platform. Netflix will be giving the year a poetic ending with Cobra Kai as one of the final shows to premiere on streaming platforms this year.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid (Disney+)

Cartoonist Jeff Kinney’s book of the same name has had several film adaptations. On Dec. 3, Disney+ will be adding to the list with an animated version of the beloved series. The movie will capture the shenanigans of the “scrawny but ambitious” protagonist Greg Heffley.

Encanto (Disney+)

The story of the enchanted world of the Madrigal family has been a much-awaited Disney animated film this year. From a magical house to a protagonist trying to fit in, the movie uses magical realism to bring the story to life. While the theatrical release of the movie was on Nov. 24, the wait for the Disney+ release will end on Dec. 24.

The Book of Boba Fett (Disney+)

Disney+ had great success with The Mandalorian and it hopes to see a similar effect with The Book of Boba Fett. Fans of Star Wars have long clamored for a look into the story of the famed bounty hunter. The first episode of the show will be aired on Dec. 29 with subsequent episodes releasing every Wednesday.

Harlem (Amazon Prime)

Surrounding the lives of a group of friends, the show will have 10 relatable episodes. Based in Harlem, New York City, the show will focus on how the friends find life after college. The Amazon Prime premiere is scheduled for Dec. 3.

The Expanse (Amazon Prime)

The science fiction television series that gripped fans on Syfy continues to be an awaited show on Amazon Prime. Based on the novel series of the same name, the show will be streaming its sixth season at the end of this year. The first episode of the sixth season will be premiering on Dec. 10. Every Friday till Jan. 14, 2022, the series will stream one episode on the platform.

Being The Ricardos (Amazon Prime)

Bringing the power couple of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz back to life Nichole Kidman and Javier Bardem will be starring in this anticipated movie. The Amazon Studio production can be streamed on Prime Video from Dec. 24.

The Matrix Resurrections (HBO Max)

One of the most awaited movies of the century has to be The Matrix Resurrections starring Keanu Reeves. Fans of Neo have been awaiting his return. Covid-19 had delayed the film’s release but is it finally set to awe fans. The movie will have its theatrical release as well as HBO Max premiere on Dec. 22.
